Essen Loveparade 2007 – We’ve been there!

Hey Guys, this time we’re a bit late in posting our new shirt-impressions. They stem from Essen in the Ruhrgebiet. The parade and all the after-parties were remarkable, the sound mostly too quiet but the shirts particularly funny.

Turtlehead

Turtlehead are an Ireland based collective of artists designing series of limited tees. They say about themselves that they have one eye on the establishment and the other on the subversive and are not aiming to bring down presidents or corporations but to show that they care. That´s why they give 5% of their sales to charity.
The shirts are a good mixture of sometimes very intelligent phrases and a nice design. The both shown below made us laugh a lot…

A friend of mine today pointed me to a very interesting page. Graniph is a Japanese page with T-Shirt Awards á la Threadless. They have some really nice T-Shirts, and everyone speaking German will love the very special interpretation of the language on some of the shirts.

Do you know Kiser? I didn´t till now…they make cool shirts. For example this one, with a Napoleon Bonaparte skeleton. Take a look at the imprint, saying “The grafic is mightier than the
sword.” It definetly is in the case of Kiser, also check out the rest of their stuff.

Tokyo Art Beat is a non-profit organisation, running a famous art event in Tokyo. Every year they get 5 international artists and designers together to create a collection of 5 T-Shirts which they sell on their website.
They´ve just released their new collection. Take a look, I love the shirts!
